    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MCDIVOTS™

WHAT ARE MCDIVOTS™?

The McDivot™ is a 2 inch (5cm) long, 100% biodegradable and organic divot anchor. It is used by golfers/caddies to anchor their divots in place, preventing birds, strong winds, heavy rain, machinery (such as mowers, leaf blowing equipment, etc.) and even golf-spikes removing the divot, until it has re-rooted. After the divot has re-rooted the anchor disappears.

WHY SHOULD A GOLFERS USE MCDIVOTS ™?

The use of McDivots™ will result in better playing and better looking fairways. The golfer will no longer have to face the problem of his/her golf ball landing in a divot hole. The reason is simply that the McDivot™ repairs the divot hole immediately, unlike a divot hole repaired with divot mix which may take weeks for the grass to grow.

McDivots™ are being used by golfers at hundreds of golf clubs around the world and course superintendents say they are experiencing a reduction in divot damage of up to 80%.

In addition, there will be a substantial savings to the club, in terms of labor and materials, by removing the traditional method of divot repair which involves the Greens-Staff filling divot holes with a sand/soil and seed mix on a regular basis

HOW DO MCDIVOTS ™ BREAK DOWN ?

Because the McDivots™ are organic, the microbes in the ground consume them.

HOW IS THE MCDIVOTS ™ SYSTEM OF DIVOT REPAIR IMPLEMENTED AT A GOLF CLUB?

The McDivots™ are supplied in small packs of 7 anchors. The pack is small enough to be carried by the golfer in his/her pocket during the round of golf. The pack carries full instructions.

We supply stand-alone dispensers for the locker-rooms or pro-shop from which the golfer collects a pack before going to the 1st tee.

WILL MCDIVOTS ™ DAMAGE EQUIPMENT?

A concern to some Superintendents has been whether the divot anchors will damage or off-set mower blades or puncture tires - this will not happen. Once the anchor is inserted into the ground, degradation will begin - the anchor softens and the microbes in the soil will begin to consume it. The result is in the unlikely event of contact with equipment the anchors will bend or break causing no damage. Testament to this are the millions of McDivot anchors being used on golf courses every year around the world without damage to equipment.

ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT MCDIVOTS ™ ?

The Royal and Ancient and the USGA, governing bodies for the Rules of Golf around the world, have made a ruling that the McDivot™ is a "Movable Obstruction" and that Rule 24-1 applies. This means that the ball can be lifted, the divot anchor removed and the ball replaced without a penalty.

The McDivots™ will store indefinitely until use while in their packaging.

In our customers' experience they have found that the implementation of the McDivot™ system at their courses has also encouraged the golfer to focus on other aspects of course repair such as repairing pitch marks, raking bunkers, etc. Therefore the benefit of using McDivots™ extends beyond effective divot repair.
